Nothing personal but the good people of the old Confederacy must stop sending idiots to the national congress who consistently vote against the national interest.
Anyone paying attention can see that republicans and their friends the bluedogs are slowing down the national recovery.
It's been almost 50 years since the passage of the civil right legislation and now it's time to move on.
Ever since LBJ enacted the civil rights and voting rights legislation in the 60's the south has turned to the republican party.
It is reported that LBJ knew he was putting the dems in jeopardy when he signed the legislation but also knew it was the right thing to do.
LBJ remarked that dems may have lost the south for a generation.
OK, times up.
It's time for the people of the southern part of the country to get over their knee-jerk devotion to a national party that consistently votes against their best interests and seems to be deeply interested in gumming up the work of the country moving forward.
Will you please stop sending people to congress that...
Don't believe in consumer protections:
Don't believe in worker protections:
Don't believe in protecting American jobs:
Don't believe in bottom up national economics & instead believe in trickle down economics:
Don't believe in helping the unemployed get through these tough times:
Don't believe in protecting our safety net programs such as social security and medicare:
Don't believe in doing anything to help generate jobs:
Don't believe in protecting our environment:
Don't believe in helping the country move to a better, cleaner energy future that also creates jobs that can't be outsourced.
Don't believe in making it easier for our kids to go to college:
Don't believe in setting national priorities, directions and goals:
The country needs lots more progressives in the congress to help overcome the reactionary republican and bluedog forces and stymie numerous filibuster efforts to stop quality legislation.
Times Up!!
It's time for the people of the south to get over the civil rights legislation and move into the 21st century and help this country move forward.
I believe a concerted and consistent effort should be launched to help the folks of the south see the light.
Just a gain of 10-15% points here and there would make a lot of difference in quite a few house and senate races.
I understand that it may be too late for this election cycle but we should get to work for the next cycle two years from now.
