More below the fold.
Conventional wisdom holds that President Obama now "owns" the economic disaster he inherited from George W. Bush.
I don't buy it.
It's patently ridiculous for the GOP to claim that Obama "owns" the nation's economic problems when a) they created them in the first place; and b) when they have actively worked to undermine any and all efforts to fix the problems.
The GOP set off an enormous economic bomb on the nation, and now they complain that President Obama hasn't cleaned up the mess fast enough - while they watch from the sidelines and set off additional smaller bombs.
No way.
Now a Newsweek poll seems to indicate what I and many others have been saying for quite some time: once people are faced with the cold, hard, tragic facts about Republican economic policies, they begin to look at this election differently. If voters are given the opportunity to see beyond the lies, spin and utter foolishness of the GOP/Tea Party advertising campaign, they think twice about giving up so readily on the Obama administration.
I created a song and video intended to illustrate the tragic legacy of Republican economic policy and to motivate people to get out and vote. Our votes are the best weapon we have against the poison spewing from the right and the oceans of corporate money now buying TV ads and politicians all over the country.
Our votes beat their slime, hands down. It's no contest. But we've got to get out there and do it.
This is the third time I have posted my video here on DK. l will freely confess that my hope is that it will go viral and have a real impact on the way people look at the choices we all face in this election.
But this is the last time I will post it, as I don't want anyone in the DK community to get annoyed.
If you like the song/video and value it's message, please pass it on. Post it on your Facebook page, e-mail it to your friends.
And don't forget to vote!!!
