At the risk of being accused again of being a troll, I have another question. My cousin insists that there was no actual tax cut in the stimulus plan. He says it was just a temporary reduction in the withholding, and the full amount will be due on April 15, causing hardship for people who will find they owe.
I shared the article from the New York Times with him and the Bloomberg report:

He read these articles but continues to insist that the full amount will fall due on April 15.
My cousin is not a tea-bagger and considers himself a moderate Republican. He is a decent guy, very kind and thoughtful, a good husband, dad, and grandpa. I told him I would research his claim and am turning to this community for an answer, as I have come to respect and admire the knowledge base of the people here.
Every time I post a question here, though, someone accuses me in a hostile way of being a troll and a secret right-winger who is presenting Republican talking points. I want to assure everyone that I am NOT a right-winger, far from it. People who know me laugh out loud when they hear the accusations. I am known in my circle of friends as a rabid, frothing-at-the-mouth liberal.
I hope you can answer my question, so I can convince my cousin that his information/impression on the middle-class tax cut is incorrect.
