... dems won't have any chance of passing their progressive agenda?????
is that what you're all going on about? if the dems lose... the rethugs are gonna do what?
ladies and gentlemen, i propose the following:
we have all, from tea parties to progressive, been David Kuo'd.
First, and I mean this: THINK ABOUT IT. The Dems almost blew health care in the majority.
I'd say the rethugs seem to be able to stop the Dems whether they are in the minority or majority.
In fact, I remember after the 2006 elections and the dawning realization that Dems were voting for what BushCo wanted.
So. Don't worry.
If you think for one minute that the rethugs are gonna let the wackos steal their power, you're mistaken.
If you think for one minute that the Dem pols are gonna let the progressives steal their power, you're mistaken.
We have been David Kuo'd. The lot of us.
Does this sound vaguely familiar???
In his book, Kuo wrote that White House staffers would roll their eyes at evangelicals, calling them "nuts" and "goofy."
Asked if that was really the attitude, Kuo tells Stahl, "Oh, absolutely. You name the important Christian leader and I have heard them mocked by serious people in serious places."
Specifically, Kuo says people in the White House political affairs office referred to Pat Robertson as "insane," Jerry Falwell as "ridiculous," and that James Dobson "had to be controlled." And President Bush, he writes, talked about his compassion agenda, but never really fought for it.

"I hear these people saying he’s like George Bush. Those people ought to be drug tested,” Gibbs said. “I mean, it’s crazy.”
The press secretary dismissed the “professional left” in terms very similar to those used by their opponents on the ideological right, saying, “They will be satisfied when we have Canadian healthcare and we’ve eliminated the Pentagon. That’s not reality.”
Of those who complain that Obama caved to centrists on issues such as healthcare reform, Gibbs said: “They wouldn’t be satisfied if Dennis Kucinich was president.”
