Radical Republicans are already planning the transition in Washington. They have never conceded defeat, even in the face of overwhelming voter rejection. They know politics is not a gentle endeavor, it is blood sport. Doom and Gloom, is a recurring theme that has been exploited by the leadership in the Republican Party, and conservatives around the world.
I reject the conventional MSM horse shit. First, I will share with you where I stand. Then, I will challenge you to consider where you stand.
So why do I still fight for change? It is not based upon Democratic Party leadership. It is not based upon either hope or fear. It is personal. My dreams, yesterday and today, are always focused on a better tomorrow for all. I’m betting that given the choice between cataclysmic failure and moving forward we will find the path to survival. Some will say this is a radical view. I’m writing this diary, not to persuade, but to reinforce my values.
Below the fold
I have a Plan A and a Plan B for moving forward. Defeat, whining, blaming is just not an option for me, nor has it ever been. Had I accepted the conventional wisdom; poverty, lack of access to education, without courage, would have crushed my will to move on.
Education, I’ve discovered, does not deliver the keys to the kingdom, or a guarantee of prosperity. Some married to the forces of evil will claim that Taliban style home schooling is superior to the broader world view of public education. Some are chomping at the bit to call public education part of the elitist left.
What’s to hate about working for world wide education? The Republican leadership has fostered the myth that education is "evil", or "elitist". Some Republicans seek ways to enforce a return to the Dark Ages of ignorance, and witch hunts in order to foster fealty to the Republican lord of the manor.
Oh sure, I can hear tomorrow’s MSM comments. "Education is one of our highest ideals." Talk is cheap; a commitment to education requires funds and resources. Is the US moving backward toward the medieval assumption that education is a privilege of the ruling class?
Haters find refuge in ignorance? That’s what the Republican Party is betting on? Doom and Gloom from the current, elite Republican Party playing its hand at poker?
We can allow the US to sink further into the pit, recognized as a Third World Country, or we can join together to move forward. Free will, you make the choice, or surrender to the shifting winds.
