My head knows that the worst thing about tonight is the Republican takeover of the House.
But the raw numbers are taking a back seat in my emotional landscape to other results that I know aren't as important, but are WAY more upsetting to me.
For example, hearing John Boner being referred to as the presumptive Speaker of the House. Also, hearing John Boner talking about "our new majority" and "the will of the American people." Oh, God. It just got worse. He's crying. My stomach roils.
There are a few others that are killing me -- and the one that may finally prove to be too much for my digestive system may not even be decided tonight: the possibility of hearing the phrase "Senator Dino Rossi."
There are a lot of silver linings; it could have been (and was predicted to be) so much worse. And I'm grateful that the direst projections did not materialize, and unspeakably grateful that we apparently won't ever hear the answers to the questions Sharron Angle said she would answer only after becoming a Senator.
But I think we're entitled to vent a little anyway. So, I'd like to hear from you: what's making you want to vomit tonight?
