And it's got everything to do with my screen name. I moved my family south in 94, and from that time till last night I never voted for a candidate for a statewide or federal office that won an election. Never! The Deep South was deep batshit crazy red.
Some may recall that I moved back to Minnesota last year as I diaried here:

Last night I voted for people that won.
Dayton's in a recount, but I'm sure he's going to win over hardcore loon Tenther Tommy Emmer. Statewide DFL candidates won. Congressman Walz won.
For the first time in 18 years I can say I voted for candidates that won. It's a small, personal victory, but it does feel good.
So citizens, amid the election ruins, what do you feel good about? Did you vote for a winning candidate who was important to you? Were you glad that a particular batshit crazy candidate lost? Are you happy that a particular referendum passed?
So I so might be an economic doomer and gloomer and a Obama critic, but last night for the first time in at least 18 years - My vote counted!
What are your thankful for or what are your 'happy' thoughts about last night?
