...is that the Repug ploy of Deny, Distract, Demonize, and Delude isn't going to cut it now that they own the House. To continue to do nothing while jobs don't materialize and corporations continue to run the tables is sheer political suicide and will only remind the electorate about what put Obama into the WH in the first place.
It was good politics (not "policy", mind you) on THEIR part to avoid specific plans at all costs as long as the Dems owned everything, but now that they own the House, the entire GOP is going to be framed by what ideas come out of their chambers. I heard Rachel tonight as she opined about how denying this President at all costs will be the "order du 'jour", but the Repugs are seriously underestimating voter fickleness if they think that they can score points with subpoenas, legislative stalling, and negative campaigning as long as the economy doesn't improve. I strongly suspect that they WILL try to steer the overall agenda over to social issues such as gay marriage, perceived threats to Christianity, chest thumping about who's more patriotic, and what they consider in true Beckian philosophy to be the overall decine of Christian White America... in other words, non economic issues that will avoid any fractioning with the Teabaggers.
FOX News, Sean Hannity, and Rush Limbaugh WILL dictate the news and set the agenda (and mainstream news will surely follow suit). They will do whatever they can to avoid dealing with a specific House agenda as long as they can "wag the dog" with a social/theologic/testosterone-fueled diversion which will deny Obama any economic advances while looking like they're doing something without offering a plan of their own and thereby keeping the TRUE Agenda concealed (tax breaks for the Super-rich, easing of Wall Street regulations, cuts in Social Security and Medicare, and more political clout to Corporate America), the revelation of which would seal their fate in 2012.
