I view the firing of Keith Olbermann as a huge tipping point for our nation, for our own party, and for what should not be obvious to all of us. MSNBC, has proven that our airways are willfully being dominated by the final and complete and total Corporate takeover of our nation.
This should be a wake up call to all Americans, because the very few voices that are left to talk about the two central issues and reasons that are literally draining our entire government and nation dry, are rarely spoken about even what is left as the most progressive shows.
It is the endless wars, and the fully corrupted key financial markets in our nation that is indeed the 8 thousand ton Elephant in the room, regardless of your own party affiliation, that is being consistently (and on purpose) not addressed fully on the airwaves. Why is that?
This is my UPDATE, which has just gone viral:
Again, watch this video, and watch the fucking lies that this idiot has passed onto our nation, over and over again. The only one that Bernanke works for is Wall St./the Banks and he has just devalued the dollar deeply. On top of that if the Bush Cuts for the Wealthy gets extended or passed again and again, then you just don't get the message.
Here's a clue: Bernanke refuses to put down the shovel he is digging us all into, and that is why even the other leaders in the Federal Reserve are speaking up against him, including Paul Volcker. That is why, Bernanke, Summers and Geithner were called 'Bush's Wrecking Crew.'
I honestly fear for my nation. I really do. The corruption is so deep, and they just keep doing the same insane shit over and over again, to protect those same crooks and lairs who led us to this point. What do we not get about that? Why are the laws of due process not being upheld in the courts of law for homeowners? Where is the FUCKING NOTES on our properties? This has been the failure of the Obama administration, and we are like a runaway train with no brakes.
On to my original diary...thanks as always.
For obvious reasons. Same reasons that neither party has any solutions for rebuilding our manufacturing base, or rebuilding the Middle Class, or any kind of a new jobs program. Both parties have knowingly sold our jobs overseas, just as they have sold us all down the river to the greatest Transfer of Wealth in our nation's history.
Let me give you an example of that just last evening on the Bill Maher show, as was discussed in a great diary today but I believe missed the entire point of this diary: Bill had on his panel 2 ultra conservatives, and a wonderful comedian who I like a lot. He also had on that fucking idiot Bill O'Reilly. When his panel started talking about how important it was to allow the Bush Tax cuts to be extended, and how important it was to go after Social Security and Medicare, not once did Bill Maher talk about the fucking endless wars, (the fully corruption Military Industrial Complex and their private contractors and profiteers), nor did he talk or even bring up the subject of the systemic corruption of Wall St./the Banks. And my point is this: Bill Maher never does, and why is that? What is it that our entire nation keeps dancing around these two obvious subjects that are the real reason we are where we are today, instead of facing the god awful truth?
Why doesn't Bill Maher have someone on his show like, Charles Furgerson who directed one of the greatest films hailed at the Cannes Film Festival this year, called: Inside Job, about what really happened to our nation from the top down with Wall St./the Banks?
Why doesn't Bill Maher have anyone on his show that really knows what happened to our nation, specifically William K. Black? Why doesn't he open up the doors to what really happened in the BP Oil spill, or how Halliburton got away with using cheap shitty cement, that every knew would fail? Why doesn't he have any Military whistle blowers on his show like Bradley Manning?
I think you will probably get my point. The 8 thousand ton Elephant in the room, is that Bill Maher is enabling the new Obama Republican Savage Hate Machine to double down, because the truth, is that Bill Maher is no different from Bill O'Reilly. Sure Bill Maher loves to put on the 'Fake Hypocritical Progressive Suit,' when he does the New Rules at the end of his show, but still he never really gets down to the truth of what is really going on in our nation, does he?
I call bullshit on Bill Maher, for being just as much as a Corporate Whore as anyone else on Fox News or most of our other bought off airways. He wants it all ways, and he wants it on our dime, and he continually refuses to hold all his 'Ultra Conservative Guests' feet to the fire, because he refuses to discuss the real issues that are in fact bleeding our nation dry:
- The Endless Wars, and the fully corruption Military Industrial Complex.
- The Complete Destruction of our entire nation, by our Key Financial Markets and how and why that occurred, with our complicit Congress.
- Why the Jobs are never coming back, because both parties, knowingly and willingly have sold our jobs overseas, and neither has a plan for bringing them home, because they have been bought and sold by the same Corporate Over Lords, that own BILL MAYER LOCK, STOCK AND BARREL.
And finally,
- that Bill Mayer, isn't even questioning his own Conservative guests, why they are being allowed to now come after our paid for so called 'Entitlements,' Social Security and Medicare as our final safety net, based on his hypocritical bullshit lies, that are indeed enabling the destruction of our entire Democracy.
Yeah, I used to love Bill Mayer, the same way I used to love Dennis Miller before they both 'lost it,' and became just another Corporate sell out, and yes, Dennis Miller went downhill really fast after 9/11. Bill is just in a slicker suit, with another bullshit story that keeps lingering in our nation, which is why we lost Keith Olbermann.
Got my point yet? No one is talking about the TRUTH on the airwaves, because they are paid not to, and they are told to STFU.
If we can face this truth, then perhaps we can lead President Obama back to doing what we keep talking about............'make him fight for us.'
Remember this? I do.
President Obama's inability to actually define his vision, who's side he is really on, who and what he stands for, and where he is going to lead us, is not our fault. He's let others define that for him, because he either is on the same side as the Republicans: the Banks/Wall St., and the Corporate Military Industrial Complex, or he is not.
Neither party, has any plans for jobs, because they have willingly sold all our jobs overseas, and we all know that by now. Neither party has any plans for holding Wall St/the Banks accountable for the continued fraud, that is ruining our nation, they are, and they are doing it together. Neither party has a plan to end the endless Wars to keep the fucking greedy MIC in high drive, because they are.
Where does that leave the Middle Class, that is continually being thrown out of their jobs and their homes?
We've got to have the courage somehow, to hold President Obama's feet to the fire, and demand that he finally decide what and who he is standing up for.....and that has been the problem in both parties.
Who in the hell gives a flying fuck in a rolling donut about the corruption, sending our jobs overseas, and the one party system: the Oligarchy Party, that is now completely taking over.
You know what? I would follow this great young President into the depths of hell, if he would just stand up and fight for what most Americans are waiting for: One fucking decent American President that will stand up for their jobs, to rebuild this nation, to call the corruption for what it is, to clean house, and no matter, how painful that all might be, to show some fucking integrity.....
The original sin of Obama's presidency was to assign economic policy to a closed circle of bank-friendly economists and Bush carryovers. Larry Summers. Timothy Geithner. Ben Bernanke. These men had no personal commitment to the goal of an early recovery, no stake in the Democratic Party, no interest in the larger success of Barack Obama. Their primary goal, instead, was and remains to protect their own past decisions and their own professional futures. Up to a point, one can defend the decisions taken in September-October 2008 under the stress of a rapidly collapsing financial system. The Bush administration was, by that time, nearly defunct. Panic was in the air, as was political blackmail -- with the threat that the October through January months might be irreparably brutal. Stopgaps were needed, they were concocted, and they held the line.
But one cannot defend the actions of Team Obama on taking office. Law, policy and politics all pointed in one direction: turn the systemically dangerous banks over to Sheila Bair and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. Insure the depositors, replace the management, fire the lobbyists, audit the books, prosecute the frauds, and restructure and downsize the institutions. The financial system would have been cleaned up. And the big bankers would have been beaten as a political force. Team Obama did none of these things. Instead they announced "stress tests," plainly designed so as to obscure the banks' true condition. They pressured the Federal Accounting Standards Board to permit the banks to ignore the market value of their toxic assets. Management stayed in place. They prosecuted no one. The Fed cut the cost of funds to zero. The President justified all this by repeating, many times, that the goal of policy was "to get credit flowing again." The banks threw a party. Reported profits soared, as did bonuses. With free funds, the banks could make money with no risk, by lending back to the Treasury. They could boom the stock market. They could make a mint on proprietary trading. Their losses on mortgages were concealed -- until the fact came out that they'd so neglected basic mortgage paperwork, as to be unable to foreclose in many cases, without the help of forged documents and perjured affidavits.
These facts were obvious to everybody, fueling rage at "bailouts." They also underlie the economy's failure to create jobs. What usually happens (and did, for example, in 1994 - 2000) is that credit growth takes over from Keynesian fiscal expansion. Armed with credit, businesses expand, and with higher incomes, public deficits decline. This cannot happen if the financial sector isn't working. Geithner, Summers and Bernanke should have known this. One can be fairly sure that they did know it. But Geithner and Bernanke had cast their lots, with continuity and coverup. And Summers, with his own record of deregulation, could hardly have complained. To counter calls for more action, Team Obama produced sunny forecasts. Their program was right-sized, because anyway unemployment would peak at 8 percent in 2009. So Larry Summers said. In making that forecast, the Obama White House took responsibility for the entire excess of joblessness above eight percent. They made it impossible to blame the ongoing disaster on George W. Bush. If this wasn't rank incompetence, it was sabotage. This is why, in a crisis, you need new people. You must be able to attack past administrations, and override old decisions, without directly crossing those who made them. President Obama didn't see this. Or perhaps, he didn't want to see it. His presidential campaign was, after all, from the beginning financed from Wall Street. He chose his team, knowing exactly who they were. And this tells us what we need to know, about who he really is.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/...
Perhaps 'we' as a people as a party do not what to see who we really are, and who 'we' have become, but I know these truths to be self evident in my own heart, and I think you do too.
The reason I think that what has happened to Keith Olbermann has hit us all so hard as a party, and as a community, is that I think deep down, we all know it is just another domino that is falling in our faces, as the Corporate Over Lords, are being allowed to fully dominate the airwaves, and silence what is really going in in our nation.
The Obama Savage Hate Machine is in full mode, people, and Bill Maher is one of those sold out assholes that is just enabling that, so stop thinking for a single moment, that he gives a flying fuck about our nation, he does not.
If he did, he would have the courage and convictions of his 'New Rules' segments, and he'd stand up, for what he believes. Indeed, he would face the real 8 thousand ton Elephant that is staring us all in the face.
The real reason that the Blue Dogs, and the Republicans are coming after our final safety net, is because our two party system is just about fried to death on the front burner by the money that is paying them both off, so that we don't have to face the truth.
We don't want the fucking truth. We can't take the fucking truth, and the last people that are going to give it to us, is our failed government, on both sides of the fence.
I know why this nation is being bled dry, and I think we all do. I know why the jobs are not coming home, and I think we all do. I know why our two party system has failed:
It's called corruption, and now we are paying the greatest price.
So fuck Bill Maher, and fuck the Corporate Overlords for firing Keith Olbermann for simply exercising his rights as an American citizen. I wonder if we added up what Keith Olbermann gave as donations to the Democratic Party, and what the Chamber of Commerce gave to Fox News, et., al. what the equation would be?
You get my drift?
Thanks as always.
