Sarah Palin is excellent when it comes to enunciating two week solutions for 52 weeks worth of problems.

I watched the preview for SPA (Sarah Palin's Alaska).
It's pretty good- to be honest I don't want it to be- but it is.
How can anything with THAT scenery not be? The music works, the snippets work.
They are fragments- a mosaic of things that Americans love.
Essentially it is like a promo for a wonderful vacation that anyone of us would wish was something coming up in our lives.
Breathtaking the moment you breath the air...
Hits all the buttons of when a vacation is planned- the imaginarium on steroids that all of us have felt- as we plug a years worth of savings into planning a (two week- 1 week- 4 day weekend) paradise.
The question unasked of course- is what happens the rest of the 50 weeks we have left in the year to deal with our daily lives?
Sarah Palin is excellent when it comes to enunciating two week solutions for 52 weeks worth of problems.
If this were Disney World- I might vote for her- but it just ain't that easy.
She comes off folksy and great, but so did the Pied Piper.
In a way it plays out as envy. The underlying envy of so many disenfranchised (from the dream) Americans, that must live vicariously through the lens that prop up this show- the majesty of a life that they are unable or financially incapable of sharing or experiencing.
It shows you the bread- but no butter or water to go with it.
It's bread and water right? In our personal cages that Sarah doesn't share?
