It's just started and she read the Bill Maher false equivalence criticism of Jon to him. (NOTE: My transcript consists of the gist of what they were saying, not direct quotes.)
Jon: It's not fair. My intention with the rally was to say that we've all bought into left, right, red, blue. Cable is amplifying a division that is false. Both sides have their way of shutting down debate. In my world, the real division is corruption vs. not corruption.
Rachel: What's the lefty way of shutting down debate?
Jon: By saying Bush is war criminal. In my world, Pol Pot is a war criminal. Saying Bush is a war criminal is shutting down conversation.
Tea Partiers:
Jon: You covered it as astroturf.
Rachel: I think they were appropriately identified.
The difference between Jon being on Comedy Central and Rachel being on MSNBC
Jon: I'm a 22-minute show. I am not reinforced there's no amplifying effect to what I do.

Here's a brief history of Jon and Rachel's televised encounters:
Fox
Jon: They're ideological but not partisan. (This will be the headline heard round the world.)
Raw, uncut video will be available Friday at maddowblog.msnbc.msn.com
Is The Daily Show like a real news show?
Jon: I feel more of a kinship to Jerry Seinfeld than MSNBC news. Crafting escoteric things that connects with people.
Rachel: I think people think of my show and your show as equivalent. With my style, people think I'm trying to be you. Does that worry you?
Jon: The box I'm in has always existed. Smother Brothers, Bill Maher paved the way for what I do
Rachel: That's a news flash right. They don't see themselves as a fake news show anymore. They don't see themselves as a news show at all.
Coming up.... Jon scolds Rachel for calling tea partiers teabaggers.
Jon: Teabagger is derogatory.
Rachel: You don't think it was funny?
Jon: For a day. Not for a month.
Rachel: I didn't run with it for a month.
Jon: You had a chance to make a difference. You're in the game.
Rachel: You're in the same game.
Jon: I'm not on the field. I'm in the stands. I could have gone on the field but I didn't because I am where I belong. I don't take any satisfaction just being a critic like Roger Ebert. There is no honor in what I do but I do it as honorably as I can.
Rachel: I am not on the field either. I don't say to call your congressman.
Jon: You don't think we're fair to MSNBC?
Rachel: Actually I don't.
....
The end
Jon: You can edit this out if you want. I like you...You, my friend, are like ginger root. You are the ginger root of interviewers, in that you have pulled things out of me I never knew were there, and yet, still I leave not nauseous."
Fin.
