Every successful President learns to use it.
It's a Tool at his or her disposal, that few other Leaders have --
It's called the Bully Pulpit.
The President has "carte blanche" to reach out and speak to the American People -- at nearly anytime they choose ...
Goodness knows, the American People, could use the encouragement.
(PS. The Democratic/Progressive agenda could use the help too.)
Let's review a few examples of the unique and amazing Power of Presidential Media --
afterall Messaging is the new "buzz word" now isn't it ...
perhaps it's time for a few minor tweaks?
In its inception Fireside Chats, really did bring Hope to the People.
Of course FDR had a way with words, and the People were really desperate for Hope:
FDR Fireside Chat: "See Fear Vanishing"

Hmmm? back in the early days of victory, President Obama had much of that same connection with the People. It seemed he knew our fears; it seemed he knew how to inspire Hope, much as FDR did:
11/15/2008: President-Elect Obama's Weekly Address

Wouldn't be nice if Obama's Weekly Addresses could rediscover that same tone again. Lately it seems like he's been phoning it in.
Here's an idea: Turn off the Teleprompter. Just talk. Person to person.
Kind of like you did here Mr. President:
Obama On Letterman

Or you can ramp it up a notch, in seriousness of dialog, like you did here Sir. You are indeed a very skilled communicator. Keep it real. Just remember to Use simple language regular folks use -- not everyone has a College Degree.
We know you can ... Keep it Real.

Good Question, Joy. Where are those Messengers for the Democrats?
Instead of Fireside Chats every week, Mr President --
Maybe you could go to a different Town every week -- and have a surprise Beer Summit? One thing's for sure - that would get people watching again.
That would get People listening ... hanging on every word ...
Four Regular Guys Having A Beer
http://www.youtube.com/...
Wouldn't be nice to hear what those "Four Regular Guys" were saying?
Wouldn't be nice, if the American People were included in the Discussion, a bit more often? Get creative. Have fun with. Take the time.
Clue us in Mr President, What is your Plan? What is your Vision?
How can WE the American People Help YOU to get there, Mr. President?
How can we really Help change things, unless you keep US in the loop, Sir,
you know, like FDR did. One on one. Person to person.
We're counting on it. We're still looking forward to those Better Days ... you know The American Dream.
Many of us still want to believe ... but it looks pretty iffy out here, Sir ...
you know, in the Real World.
