Oh yes indeed, it’s time for the 2nd annual Netroots Nation Holiday Bazaar. This year it will be held from Thursday, December 2nd to Tuesday, December 7th. And we're looking for contributions!
But you may be thinking, "I can’t knit, I can’t bake, I can’t even stay within the lines when I color. How can I contribute to the Holiday Bazaar?" Oh, I bet you do have a hidden talent you’re not even thinking of. Follow me to camera 3 below the fold to see how YOU TOO can donate and benefit a great organization at the same time.
First of all, what were some of the items in last year’s Holiday Bazaar? Well they included:
· Hand-dipped chocolate truffles
· A variety of preserves and jams
· Hand-crafted wine rack stained to specification
· Crocheted and knitted items
· Home-roasted coffee
· Quilted pillows and throws
Sure, sounds like these items just walked out of the Martha Stewart Living magazine. But here are a few other ideas that might get you thinking. For example, can you:
· Teach a novice chess player online how to improve their game because you’re a chess master?
· Show someone how to samba because you teach lessons on the weekends?
· Play your guitar at a celebration such as an anniversary or birthday?
See, there are endless possibilities! If you've got an idea out there of something you would like to see in the Holiday Bazaar, post it in a comment below.
Btw, I will be co-chairing this fundraiser again with our own Front Pager and knitting queen Joan McCarter (pumpkin hats anyone?) and the illustrious Spedwybabs (Beth Becker).
So start thinking of ideas and feel free to donate online or contact the Netroots Nation Development Director Karen Kolber (karen at netroots nation dot org) and let her know what you would like to donate.
Thanks so much everyone and remember all proceeds benefit Netroots Nation.
P.S. Have you registered yet for NN 2011? (June 16-19 in Minneapolis)
