While we've been pie fighting today, something seems to have slipped by that hasn't been noticed yet, and I thought I'd burn a diary telling you all about it.
It seems the good guys have won one.
HR 3808, the bill giving protection and legal cover to Robo-signers, and that the President vetoed, came up for an override vote in the House today.
And the veto was SUSTAINED
That's right, we actually WON one. The House vote was 235-185 against overriding the veto. And it was mostly along party lines.
There had been some doom-n-gloom diaries lately on this, talking about how this veto would easily be overridden since it passed by unanimous consent. Well, take heart, all you naysayers, there is still good in the Congressional Democrats.
But our work isn't done. We still have much to do this session, as well as helping Leader Pelosi fight the Republicans to keep them from enacting their agenda to kill America.
Here are the Democrats who voted to override the veto:
Bean
Boren
Braley
Bright
Carnahan
Donnelly (IN)
Ellison
McMahon
Minnick
Murphy (NY)
Owens
Peterson
Shuler (Not a good day for him)
