The Judean Peoples front!
Reading all these diaries from and about the host of a liberal talk show host instead of say, anything else, reminds me of a bit from the classic Life of Brain.
BRIAN: Brothers! Brothers! We should be struggling together!
FRANCIS: We are! Ohh.
BRIAN: We mustn't fight each other! Surely we should be united against the common enemy!
EVERYONE: The Judean People's Front?!
BRIAN: No, no! The Romans!
EVERYONE: Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yes.
I'm sure this circular fire squad will only lay down arms when (and hopefully not if) President Obama's re-election looks secure, but until then, we'll be subject to these diaries. Which is fine by me. I like honest, open debate, and think well-argued criticism of the President can be warranted. I like an open forum where people can praise Obama, and criticize him - both from the left. You rarely see that anywhere else. But on lazy Sundays like this, it seems to have gone delightfully overboard. We all lost our **** over comments from one of The Young Turks!
All this back and forth over Cenk Uygur, whom I like, seems a little silly. Especially since the rest of blogdom seems to be in full outrage-mode over this video of an apparent TSA patdown:
Isn't this a slightly larger fish to fry? Or if not fry, pat down? The "enemy" is not a fill-in host on MSNBC - it's the Republicans. I'm not being a scold. I've read all these diaries, and found them quite entertaining. But mostly silly. Pythonesque, if you will.
