The last few election cycles have caused us to all get hyped up, felt let down, brought back up for a moment or two - long enough to separate us from either our money or our time for a candidate(s) and then thrown to the ground once again.
So. Why is this? What are we doing spinning our wheels working for "change" within the system, when it has become obvious to those of us whom have worked within the system for such a long time now that we should realize when you meet the new boss, (s)he is the same as the old boss?
Is it because we aren't thinking outside not only the box, but the entire realm of politics in order to achieve our goals?
Or, maybe it is due to the inherent corruption of having Senators and Congresspeople that are on average very wealthy in the first place and so how could they understand the needs and wants of average Americans?
Are our morals as a people (Americans) completely debauched when the Christian Right now holds the belief that LYING in the name of GOD has become de rigueur or the accepted morals of a group that purports to follow the teachings of Christ? Didn't his supposed Father command that if you choose to follow him that one of his covenants was "Thou shalt not lie" as opposed to "Thou shalt not lie unless....?"
Is the real action outside the political process and based in the simple teaching of the real meaning of morality beyond that which we are told is today's version of morality? A brand new morality, so to speak?
Is it so hard to walk away from the world you've worked so hard to help administer and flourish when in the end all you have worked for is to your detriment?
Is justice a word that needs new descriptions, or is it justice?
How much energy would you put into working outside the political process and working towards a truly people oriented movement if you could shed the skin of your previous political beliefs of left / right / center and just concentrate on TRUE morals and REAL justice?
What would it take to facilitate that change in mindset among we, the leaders and political minds that try to help set policy but are thwarted by the greed and false morals of those that pretend to serve us?
Should we not move forward in our thinking and begin again? Are we winning now? Can we win for all of us in the end if we come at this from another angle? Does anyone have any idea what that angle might be?
I have some ideas, and I would like to share them with you here if anyone is interested. Just understand, all of my ideas also end with a question mark. However, together we might just be able to finally ask the right questions of each other and then begin putting together a plan to find the correct answers. For ourselves. Our families. Our nation and it's people. For all the peoples in this world.
