The Senator from the tea party is going to become the author from the tea party starting in February 2011. Yesterday, Center Street Publishing -- a division of Hachette that produces "wholesome entertainment, helpful encouragement, and books of traditional values" -- announced it had inked a deal with Rand Paul, the Republican Sen.-elect from Kentucky, to write a book called "The Tea Party Goes to Washington." [...]
Paul "and those who voted for him want to end the bailouts, the entitlements and the spending," the publisher writes. In Paul's book, "he lays out his program to accomplish these goals."
Or, as a U.S. Senator, Paul could "lay out his program" by introducing legislation. He could talk about it on the floor of the Senate, and he could give radio and T.V. interviews to make his case.
Or he can write a book -- or have one ghostwritten for him -- and rake in a boatload of cash from adoring teahadists.
