Dear Mr. President,
Have you watched C-Span recently? If so, you may have seen this amazing speech:
Bernie Sanders AMAZING speech
And you know what you said in your own 2008 campaign. Stuff like this speech after the fold...
Obama the campaigner
So, why do you not have the courage of your conviction? Putting lipstick on a pig, to use an old '08 expression, of a tax-cut extension for the wealthy with things such as unemployment insurance benefit extensions and stimulus tax benefit extensions still leaves it a pig.
Really, President Obama, couldn't you have made these issues of other tax benefits for struggling Americans as well as unemployment compensation distinct and separate from the extension of these TEMPORARY cuts to the wealthiest Americans?
What gives?
What happened?
You, Mr. President, are being a Sell-Out. Did you leave all your "fight" on the road in 2008? Did someone get to you and make you just another "bought-and-paid-for" politician?
Where's my CHANGE??? I think, in your mind, that's just "pocket change", especially compared to the largesse you are about to hand the wealthy.
I'm apoplectic. And I'm well-off, a retired hedge fund manager, so I'm arguing against my own best financial interests. I wish you'd do likewise.
Sincerely,
A Disappointed Former Supporter and Hedge Fund Manager
UPDATE: Obama apologists, thanks for not recommending my diary. After all, it's "mean-spirited, cynical, unhelpful", as one of you put it. Of course, so is dissent and protest now, in your minds.
