Barry, Don't let the GOP get the upper hand in letting the tax rates remain for the rich.  Take the high road.  Everyone knows we need to reduce the deficit--your non-partisan commission, the Fed, the Tea Partiers--so then, show the American people you are committed to do just that, and that extending the Bush tax cuts would hurt America more in the long term, than short term.  Let them expire then introduce legislation in January for returning to the current tax rates for the middle class.

I voted for you because I wanted to HOPE we could have some CHANGE for once.  Not the same old crap.  Remember the guy who gave this speech? "The time for bickering is over. The time for games has passed. Now is the season for action."  If you were honest about not doing things because they were easy and would get you re-elected, then be honest with what really needs to be done for America.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

I'm angrier than fuck with this President...

But calling him Barry is really beyond the pale. It's shit Republicans pull. It's disgusting. And whenever someone does it, it pretty much tells me that person is a piece of shit.

Bernie Sanders came this close to saying he would fillabuster the tax cut bill if it included the cuts for the rich.

Democrats should have been framing this as a debate about whether to repeal the Bush Tax Increases, not as a debate about whether to extend the Bush Tax Cuts.

The Republican Congress passed and George W. Bush signed  a massive tax increase that will take effect January 1, 2011.  The question Congress is considering is whether to repeal that Bush tax increase.
