I'm sorry for the quick diary, but I keep coming back to this and would like to hear explanations of how anyone can think the President wasn't had in the negotiations over the Obama-McConnell Tax Plan.
Please square this:

A GOP source sent over a sampling of those endorsements.
* The Wall Street Journal: "this deal is superior to anything we could have imagined six months ago...."
* National Review: "the deal is still worth taking..."
* The Heritage Foundation: "this is a compromise worth embracing."
* Grover Norquist: "'a much bigger victory than people see' for the Republicans."
and with this:
The vast majority of Senate Republicans are expected to back a deal with President Barack Obama to extend Bush-era tax cuts for two years, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said Tuesday.
McConnell spoke to reporters following a meeting with his fellow Republicans where the tax deal outline by Obama on Monday was discussed. He said the "vast majority" would vote for the proposal. (Reporting by Donna Smith; Editing by Paul Simao)
and this:
Republicans control neither the House nor the Senate – and certainly not the White House. But they largely dictated the terms of Obama’s proposed tax-cut compromise, which disgruntled House and Senate Democrats will discuss in separate closed meetings Tuesday that are likely to be rowdy.
<snip>
The president had barely stopped speaking Monday before top Republicans applauded his proposals, while most Democrats kept a sullen silence.
I mean, if the number one priority of the Republicans is to ensure President Obama is a one-termer, and they are this giddy over the tax compromise while Obama's base cancels OFA subscriptions, then what could be any clearer than that the Republicans ate every slice President Obama's lunch, not to mention ours?
