Remember back during the primaries in early 2008 when Obama said that Reagan was a "transformative" President while Bill Clinton was not? I and many others were fooled into thinking that this meant Obama wanted to transform the country into a liberal country the way Reagan transformed the country into a conservative country.
Apparently, he actually did want to transform us into a conservative country the way Reagan did.
Now, he wants to "simplify" the tax code the way Reagan did in 1986:
Obama said Congress should next consider streamlining the multilayered tax code to lower rates while eliminating tax breaks for favored groups.

This is what Reagan did in 1986 and it lowered the top tax rate from 50% down to 28%, while raising rates on many middle class taxpayers. This sounds an awful lot like what Paul Ryan wants in his "roadmap", cutting taxes on the wealthiest, while getting the middle class to shoulder the burden.
The fight starts on this horrible tax deal. If we can defeat Obama and the Republicans on this, maybe, just maybe, we will be able to save the middle class from the next assault on them by Obama and the Republicans.
I never would have dreamed that Obama would be such a disaster for the Democratic party and liberalism in general. Obama is the best Republican President Republicans will ever have.
When are Democrats and liberals going to start fighting back?
