Does anyone know how the ads on DKos work? Aren't they supposed to be targeted toward the specific user? Because if so, they don't know me AT ALL!
For one thing, they seem to think that I am a ravening conservative. You'd think that someone's mere presence on a site like Daily Kos would dispel that notion, but apparently not. I can't help but wonder how many copies of Glenn Beck's latest book they are selling here, or how much support they are getting in their movement to impeach Obama? (Okay, that last one might actually find some support here, but not for the reasons they think!)
They also think that I love General Motors products. This is particularly ironic since one of my recent diaries was basically a screed against the Chevy Volt (which I still think is a dumb car) and the incompetent company that makes it. Although when I clicked on the diary to copy the URL just now, an ad for the new Ford Fiesta popped up. It's almost like they have a sense of humor.
I must admit that I was somewhat intrigued by the ads for something called "Cannabiz," although I was disappointed that the page it linked to contained no information on where I might obtain some good stuff. I DO NOT HAVE A PROBLEM!
Hmm, maybe I could use those ads for Passages Malibu after all.
For the record, I have zero interest in either Barry Sanders or the Nissan Juke, a vehicle that lokks like something "Hot Wheels" thought was space age some time around 1974. And as an atheist anything entitled Little Town of Bethlehem is not likely to pique my interest.
I do like Saabs, although something tells me it's just a coincidence that those ads pop up. Besides, unless they're marketing pre-1994 900s I'm not interested. See my earlier comments about GM.
A lot of people want to help me improve my PC's performance. Which will be quite a trick since I use a Mac.
And maybe I can wear my t-shirts with snarky sayings while I listen to Michael Jackson's new duet with Akon. By the way, what the heck is an "Akon?"
And why does Facebook think I care that "Jacob" and "Steve" (who appears to be the Brady Bunch's old dog) like Daily Kos?
Finally, Stansberry & Associates want to make sure I am aware that THE FOLLOWING PRESENTATION IS CONTROVERSIAL AND MAY BE OFFENSIVE TO SOME AUDIENCES. Viewer discretion is advised. It turns out they have information that there is going to be an even bigger Wall Street crisis, but -- luckily -- if I invest with them I can not only ride it out but make a profit. Don't they know this is a Democratic site? Why would they think they'd find an audience sympathetic to some big Wall Street investment firm?
Oh, right.
Never mind.
