I have been quite dismayed by the political situation that this country is in.
We elected a President that promised hope and change and got a little hope and a little change and a lot of the status quo. On top of that the forces allied against the will of the people have won great victories the Citizens United case and the 2010 mid-term elections. It seems that getting only a little of what they want coupled with a economy that makes us all want to retire, leaves us with little to get excited about.
I want to do some thing to change that. We need to build an environment of involvement for all not just the most politically motivated. In line with this objective I have come up with the idea of a weekly online vote for all major political offices that will be on the 2012 ballots. We need to foster an environment where all want to do their part and vote in their local elections and getting many, many individuals to vote weekly online may go a long way to actually getting them to the polls in November 2012. In addition strong but little known leaders could gain some level of recognition before the entrenched interests come in and try to take over the narrative. To make this happen I have just created a site Vote for Democracy.org. Come visit the site, the first vote will be tomorrow 6:00am to 11:59pm EST. If you have write-in candidates that need to be included come vote tomorrow and write them in. Initially all I have loaded the ballots with are the incumbents.
Thanks for taking the time.
