Last time I covered Smith in this detail he stomped Bill Kristol like a grape, but this is must see TV.

There was no warning label on Ground Zero on 9/11, "These substances will kill you," and even if there had been, they'd a gone in there anyway. They just need a little bit of help... We spend a lot more money giving Warren Buffett his income tax refunds than we do for those folks.

Here's what I love about the guy.  He remembers what it was like that morning.

We're able to pay for tax cuts for billionaires who don't need them, and it's not going to stimulate the economy. And we can't give health care to Ground Zero first responders to ran right in to the fire!?.  Went down there to save people? Do people realize what this city was like that day? People were walking over bridges.  They were covered in ash.  They were running for their lives.  They were crying.  Their family members were dead.  And these people ran too Ground Zero to save people's lives.  And we're not going to give them medicine for the illnesses they got down there?  It's disgusting. It's a national disgrace.  It's a shame. And everybody who voted against it should have to stand up and account for himself or herself.

Nicely done.  Oh... and there's more in the clip if you didn't watch it yet.  Well worth the trip.  The good news here?  I think those guys are going to finally get the coverage they deserved.  It's a shame they had to fight so hard and so long for what we all know is the least we can do for them.

I hope Stewart and The Daily Show get another Peabody for helping to make this a national story.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
