Jon Stewart and John Oliver did it again last week in two separate segments where Oliver traveled to Hawaii for the RNC winter meeting, as the Republicans tried to pass along their message of fiscal responsibility by holding their winter meeting... in Hawaii. Then in the second segment, Oliver really shows how hollow their talking points are by looking at Hawaii's own health care system.
Here's the first clip focusing on their fiscal hypocrisy.
The rest below the fold.
Here's the second clip focusing on Hawaii's health care, and what it provides, compared to the GOP's fearmongering talking points, including what even Rush Limbaugh said after he was hospitalized in Hawaii.
What's really funny is that even in the comments section on the Daily Show website for that clip, you have right-wingers whine that Oliver is misleading the audience about Hawaii's health care system, that it's not universal, when in the clip, Oliver clearly says, "Here, government mandates that businesses give health insurance to any employee working over 20 hours a week, resulting in near universal coverage". Yet another example of Republicans simply not even listening, and letting it go right over their heads.
Even Dog the Bounty Hunter is for health care!
Major props to the Daily Show for exposing the hypocrisy our mainstream media is largely afraid to.
