Thinking back on the days immediately following 9/11, I remember thinking at the time how quickly Americans learned their lines from the media. I, personally, have never felt an iota of fear from a terror attack, but what media I saw at the time seemed full of people dutifully telling newspeople that they felt afraid. Almost overnight the big follow-up to the attack itself was how Americans were afraid. I'm not at all sure how many folks were actually fearful, but the story became, quickly, "we are afraid".
So I'm curious as to how we got to this alleged place of fear so quickly, because, as we now know, Somebody was able to quickly capitalize on the situation.
So, a Poll of your feelings at the time of 9/11, if you can recall. If there appears to have been a lot of fear, I'll ask what it was we were afraid of.
