Readers,
I am suspicious about something that is going on at the Congress.org website.
Whenever I use their site to email my Senators and Congressman I ALWAYS check the option to have the email added to the "Letters To Leaders" section. I like the idea that my thoughts and comments can be seen by the rest of the country.
After sending my emails I always go to the "Letters to Leaders" section to make sure my email has been posted. But, in the past few weeks, if I check to see if the letter is there 10 minutes later, it is gone, it's been deleted.
Now I could understand them deleting an email if it contained something obscene or objectionable, but my emails NEVER contain either.
Yesterday I wrote an email to Senators McCain and Kyl, and to Congressman Franks, about how Mike Brown lied while under oath. I pointed out the lies and provided paragraphs from Governor Blanco's email to President Bush on August 27, 2005, to show that he was in fact lying.
Immediately after sending the email I checked the "Letters to Leaders" section to make sure it was sent, it WAS there and 10 minutes later it was GONE! So, I re-sent the email and AGAIN the same thing happened. Yesterday I wrote to Congress.org to question them about this and got this response "Letters to Leaders are designed to rotate as new ones are posted. It is
possible that if you view the "more" link you will see your letter.", I then checked the next several pages and could not find my emails anywhere.
So, someone else please check to see if the same thing is happening to them.
What bothers me most about this is whether or not my emails are actually making it to the Congressional recipients.
Have the Republicans placed a mole there to delete emails critical of this Administration?
I would not put it past them.
