Independent Gay Forum was whinging about why HRC was not more loyal to Arlen Specter, since Kerry/Edwards didn't vote on the amendment, why do standards matter, blah blah. Then they linked to this article, which mentions that Human Rights Campaign endorsed Joe Hoeffel because Specter voted for the procedural vote on FMA.

After the (deserved) criticism of HRC as establishment and sellout due to the Margaret Cho flap, I wanted to point this out, because it gives me more respect for them. Hoeffel may be a medium/longshot, but he's already had a spotless gay rights record, in spite of representing a swing district. He didn't sell out gays for political expedience, as Specter has a number of times. Hoeffel deserved this endorsement, and now Specter knows that not every Democratic group is going to fawn all over him if he doesn't show some respect in return.
