| | The latest atrocity of the Far Reich American Taliban's retched up rhetoric has come to light in the form of a coffin being placed upon the lawn of the family home of Missouri Democrat Rep. Russ Carnahan.
But it was no threat, claims St. Louis Tea Party Coalition and religious fanatic blogger Jim Hoft, owner of the Gateway Pundit blog, who stated, "So obviously it came as quite a shock tonight to see that the Carnahan people and the Democratic-media complex had twisted this innocent prayer vigil into some kind of threat against Russ Carnahan." | |
Full story on the flip..
But first, a disclaimer from Jim Hoft:
Remember as you read this: There is nothing the democratic-media complex will not do to lie about the tea party patriots or to prop up these horrid leftists who are transforming our country into some kind of quasi-socialist state.
O.. K..
And now on with the facts.
At approx. 11:30 last night, Jim Hoft of the blog 'Gateway Pundit' on First Things, a monthly ecumenical journal founded by Roman Catholic theologian Richard John Neuhaus, which is focused on creating a 'religiously informed public philosophy for the ordering of society' (highlight mine), and members of the St. Louis Tea Party Coalition held a 'vigil', with a coffin, outside Russ Carnahan’s office.
They then proceeded to the house member's home for a 'prayer service', with the coffin.
Hoft, who expresses outrage at the "State-Run Media" for accusing "Tea Party Organizer of Terrorism For Posting Congressman’s Address" (said address actually being the home of the congressman's brother and his family, where extremists cut the gas supply lines earlier that same day) accepts no consternation for showing up outside the private home of an elected official with a coffin in a week of numerous threats and violent and bigoted incidents. He blames the media and says they, and Rep. Carnahan, are 'lying'.
He doesn't dispute that he, and his 'society ordering' accomplices, took a coffin to Carnahan's private home and placed it on his lawn. Rather, in Hoft's twisted mind it is a 'lie' to see it as a threat. He expresses the belief that he had the perfect right to stalk Carnahan at his home with a coffin and terrorize his family and is angry with the media for not supporting him and his Tea Party 'activists'.
Politico reports:
A coffin was placed on a Missouri Democrat's lawn, another in a string of incidents against lawmakers after their vote Sunday on a health care overhaul.
This came after Rep. Tom Perriello's (D-VA) brother's gas lines were cut, Rep. Bart Stupak (D-MI) received death threats and Rules Committee Chairwoman Louise Slaughter (D-N.Y) received a message saying snipers were being deployed to kill children of those who voted for health care overhaul.
Several other Democrats have had threats leveled against them, prompting a closed-door briefing of Democratic members by the FBI, Capitol Police and the House Sergeant at Arms.
A spokesman for Rep. Carnahan is quoted as saying:
"Carnahan appreciates thoughtful feedback received both in favor and opposition of health insurance reform. We can disagree on important issues facing our country without resorting to this kind of thing. Russ Carnahan isn't going to shy away from the importance of reform when 45,000 fellow Americans died last year due to a lack of health insurance."
Oddly enough, for all the denials that their actions were a threat to the Congressman and his family, the picture of the 'vigil' on Hoft's blog is labeled and saved as "carnahan-death-panel":
I will monitor the story and update as appropriate.
Thank you for taking the time to read my diary.
