The group, the Other 95%, were fed up with the political landscape being taken over by a bunch of uninformed, angry Conservatives, so they decided to take matters into their own hands. Here's an excerpt from their About Us page:
The Other 95%
American politics have been hijacked by the noisy lies of the teaparty fringe. They complain about being taxed too much, but do they even know that 95% of Americans received a tax cut from Obama. And this time the cuts didn’t go to just the super wealthy few like they did under Bush, but to folks like us just trying to get by. We can’t let the tea partiers drown out the truth about Obama’s tax cuts. Instead, let’s make sure that Americans get the facts – not just the hype.
It's really about time we start getting out there to shout down the shouters. But as of recently the Tea Party has continuously been infiltrated by people like us who are just tired of the hate and the racism. I bet if we matched the size of the teabaggers while they protested, the MSM would have to acknowledge us, instead of ignoring the groups that protest for things other than what the wealthy few want.
A group of Obama supporters stormed today's Tax Day Tea Party in downtown Washington, D.C., creating a brief and nonviolent ruckus among the tea partiers gathered to listen to Grover Norquist and Dick Armey on Freedom Plaza.
The pro-Obama group, known as "The Other 95%," held a counter-rally earlier in the day to thank Democrats for what they say are the tax cuts the party has given to 95% of Americans since Obama took power.
D.C. cops quickly tossed the group off the plaza, but not before they got into a couple of shouting matches with tea partiers present. Check out my video of how it all went down -- and how one tea partier from Phoenix, AZ felt about it. --
The full article is at TPMDC. Here are some pictures I compiled from their Facebook page, where you can also become a fan of their group. This is perfect, they were right across from the Teabaggers.
This first picture is my favorite and should speak volumes over all of those incoherent, badly spelled signs the Teabaggers are so proud of.
We can all thank our great President for this, because even he is starting to get tired of the Teabaggers and their ignorance, and you know how patient Barack Obama is, I think they finally hit a nerve:
The momentum is gaining and soon the Tea Party crowd will be another national joke besides Sarah Palin, I mean, if they already aren't. :P
Update: Just to let you all know, I won't be able to comment. Taking my 21 mo old son to a Star Wars museum expo, hope he'll like it.
Peace, thank you for reccing, tipping, commenting, I really appreciate it!
