Once again, the Fail is strong with the Republicans. And once again, I take delight in recounting for your amusement some of the ways in which Republicans achieve fail - which may be judged to be fail, epic fail, epochal fail, eternal fail, and the only-seen-once-in-history Bush Administration.
Follow me below the fold for a discussion of recent Republican failures.
Republican Committees
To our collective delight, RNC fundraising took place at a LA faux-lesbian sex bondage strip club, and the RNC picked up the bill. Even Faux Noise admits this could cause problems in RNC fundraising. Which may explain why the Republicans have less money on hand than the Democrats for pretty much the first time ever.
So, they lose an experienced fundraiser (Amb. Sam Fox), and hire a replacement who was ordered to repay $70k to baseball organizations he had chaired.
This has lead to reports of a shadow rnc trying to raise $50M to offset the RNC fail.
Add to this the fun in Florida. Where Gov. Crist has asked the Federal Government to probe the GOP party (no, not that sort of probe) over allegations of fraud and slush funds. Things have gotten so bad the former chair of the Florida GOP (Jim Greer - appointed by Crist) is suing the GOP for failure to honor his severance package.
The Sarah
The Sarah failed in several ways, none of which involved quitting. First, her show bombed, ratings-wise, as reported on the front page. Then there was the whole LL Cool Jay debacle where Faux Noise ran ads suggesting that Palin was going to interview a rapper, when she wasn't going to do so. Also, in a "whose fail is more epic" moment, The Sarah asked the RNC to remove her from their fundraising agenda.
John McCain
In a clear example of epic fail, John McCain now claims He never said he was a Maverick. I guess he's forgotten about 10,000 speeches and advertisements, along with how many homes he owns. This is not good news.
Census
In census fail news, Karl Rove must now star in a PSA to get conservatives to fill out their census forms - because hysterical wingnuts of the Bachmann ilk have convinced conservatives to not fill out the census - which could reduce Congressional representation in Republican states and districts. In possibly epochal fail, the words "Karl Rove" and "Public Service" are now being uttered in the same sentence sans irony.
Health Care
The Republicans are starting to back away from Repeal of HC. The RWNM does not lend itself to nuance, and by the time the election occurs too many voters will have benefited, or known someone who did. They can't run on repeal, they can't run on nuance, and they can't let Democrats claim victory - so what's a hysterical Goposaur to do?
Teabonics
When your fail at spelling and grammar achieves epochal status, bloggers name a pseudo-dialect after your misuse of the language.
Conclusion
The last time I did this, I thought the Republicans had achieved new levels of collective fail. Yet here we are, a fortnight later, and the fail keeps on coming. I leave it up to you in the polls, gentle readers: is this fail more epic, or even epochal, than previous Republican fail?
