I have to say that as totally disgusted as I am with Tony Hayward, the curly topped CEO of BP, I'm even more revolted by the members of Congress who grilled him for 4 hours!!
ALL you guys got out of him was "It's too early to reach a conclusion?"
All you did was throw questions at him that he could dodge when what you should have asked him were things that you KNEW he knew the answers to! Like, Hey! Tell us about that life you're waiting to get back to when all this is over! I'm sure all the people out of work along the Gulf Coast would love to hear about it!
Oh, and Tony, that commercial that you've plastered all over TV and the internet, you talked about how the Gulf is home to thousands of BP employees and we all feel the impact. Well, tell us about some of those employees -- can you name five of them? --and how they've been affected. Have any of them, lost their jobs? Their homes? Their businesses? Or are they earning a lot of money helping to clean up the mess you guys made?
And you also said that the accident should never have happened and that you're going to do everything so that this never happens again. Your own words -- which brings us to your one great area of expertise because you're not just a bean counter, you actually have a PHD in Geology and so you know all this good stuff about oil and pressure under the earth, so you must also know that there is no way in hell that you can make a promise like that unless BP is going to stop deep sea drilling.
Unless that promise is like the other promise you made in that commercial to "keep us all informed." Because if you call the answers you've been giving Congress honest and informed, well then, I've got a whole fleet of shrimp boats to sell you.
