Four more GIs
died today in Iraq, pushing the total to over 100 combat deaths since Bush's GI Joe "mission accomplished" moment on the USS Lincoln. Including all deaths,
we've lost 198 since Bush declared victory.
Granted, this sort of news
isn't important to Republicans like US Rep. Nethercutt.
But to the rest of us, you know -- those of us who give a damn about our men and women in uniform -- this is more tragic proof of Bush's failures. The GOoPers and their apologists can cry "media bias" and argue that things are just wonderful in Iraq.
But of all the numbers at our disposal, this is the one that can't be spun. Every one of those deaths is significant. Every one of those deaths is meaningful. And every one of those deaths is an unecessary tragedy.
