Sharron Angle is blasting Harry Reid for creating jobs in Nevada.
For real.
At issue: Harry Reid's effort to support MGM Resorts' massive CityCenter casino project on the Las Vegas Strip, an effort MGM's CEO Jim Murren credits with saving 12,000 jobs.
So what's Angle's beef? By creating jobs in Nevada, she says Reid might have taken away away from other parts of the country. In her words, Reid was "shuffling the deck chairs on the Titanic."
KLAS-TV, the CBS affiliate in Las Vegas, covered Angle's new attack:
Maybe Angle's attack on Reid will play well outside of Nevada, but inside the Silver State, this will probably come off as the looniest thing she has ever said.
Update -- MGM Resorts responds to Angle:
A representative with MGM Resorts, meanwhile, said in a statement, "Ms. Angle's statement is ridiculous on its face. Senator Reid's support of our significant private investment in Las Vegas came during our company's darkest hour. He saved, not only 10,000 construction jobs and 12,000 permanent private sector jobs at CityCenter, but the jobs of 50,000 employees at our other resorts that would have been jeopardized had our company followed CityCenter into bankruptcy."
