With primary election day approaching rapidly and early voting already open, the latest polls show a large percentage of voters still undecided about who to choose for our Democratic senate nominee, and all four candidates are well within striking distance given the large number of undecideds.
We have little recent polling information to go on, and our newspapers and main steam media are not reporting much at all on this race or the candidates.
But there is a name that has started to gain attention recently, someone who is going to be an important voice for Arizona and for the Democratic Party. If you don't know who he is, allow me to introduce him to you, and you can be among the first to recognize the potential of this candidate to become our party's MVP, as he surprises everyone and beats John McCain and helps carry Terry Goddard to victory as well. Listen to Randy Parraz explain why he can do this.
I can't write an essay that can possibly convey the reasons Randy Parraz is going to win, and why he's so important to the future of the party. But there is a reason his campaign has taken off like a rocket, while the former frontrunner and presumed winner has faded.
If you care about Arizona's response to SB1070, if you care about beating McCain, if you care about the future of the Democratic Party and progressive power and influence, you owe it to yourself to spend about 40 minutes of your time to watch this video of Randy Parraz talking to Democrats in Tucson, back in June when he had just qualified for the ballot.
Randy Parraz speaks to Democrats of Greater Tucson, 6/21/10 from Abie Morales on Vimeo.
Apologies to those who need a transcript. I do not have the time to transcribe this entire video. I wish I did. If anyone knows of a way to have that done besides typing it down by hand (which I simply to not have the time to do anytime soon) please let me know.
I cannot stay to answer comments today but will return to this diary later to answer any questions.
I don't work for Parraz or any politician. I'm an enthusiastic and dedicated grassroots supporter, because Randy spoke to me like he did to many in that room above, and I really want him to win.
