ramara’s quilt
Longtime Kossack (UID 4242!) SarahLee suffers from lymphoma and Lyme Disease. She may suffer but illness will not stop this extraordinary woman. She finds ways to keep going in spite of everything. I hope to meet her in person someday because I admire her strength and grace – she is a remarkable person who cares about the welfare of others – especially their health -- and she has worked tirelessly for meaningful health reform for everybody. Well, we, her blogging friends, care about SarahLee, too, and would like to offer all best thoughts for the best of health for her. We’ll put those thoughts in a quilt, something she can wrap up in and cuddle in, keeping all our support close anytime she needs her friends. Let's do this for her.
ramara’s quilt, showing the backing
Here’s how the Community Quilts work. Leave a message for SarahLee in the comments below – something pithy I can write in a 4.5" square. I will inscribe your message in archival ink on muslin, heat set it for permanence, and my sister and I will incorporate it into a colorful quilt.
handmade card for ramara, by Blue Heron
I figure the costs of making these quilts at about $5/message (for the materials and a bit of our time) – roughly the cost of sending a nice greeting card. If you would like to contribute to the project, here is a PayPal link. Or email me if you prefer to send a check. If you cannot contribute funds, please leave a message anyway. This is a group effort and someone will cover for you. Don’t underestimate the value of your kind words! SarahLee will treasure them.

Louisiana 1976’s quilt top is close to completion. And Noor B’s messages have all been written out and heat set. We’ll have both quilts done very soon.
