Y'all think we'll see one of these signs at a tea bagger rally or some GOBP convention? Don't hold your breath on that score.
Need I say more? Well, I don't, really, but I am anyway 'cause it's my damn diary! ;D
"This day in history" includes the following items. On Sept. 22, 1862, President Abraham Lincoln issued the preliminary Emancipation Proclamation, declaring all slaves in rebel states should be free as of Jan. 1, 1863. And, some "people" are still complaining about it. *&^%$#@!
On this date in 1975, Sara Jane Moore failed in an attempt to shoot President Gerald R. Ford outside a San Francisco hotel. Wasn't that either right before or right after Squeaky Fromme tried to shoot him? Talk about your rough stretch!! Oh, by the way, the man who saved President Ford's life that day was a homosexual Marine veteran.
Since we have "witches" in the news these days - or what Miss Don't Touch Yourself thinks are witches, I should note that Martha Corey was executed on this date in 1692. And, we all thought the days of witch hunting were over - HA! *&^%$#@!
A local passing of note on this date in 1992 was Tony Hinkle. The place where the Butler University Bulldogs (y'all remember them - nearly NCAA champions?) is Hinkle Fieldhouse.
Finally, George C. Scott died on this date in 1999. Y'all should know what's coming by now! ;D
Let's Countdown; look at the big board all you want!
#5 "Countdown Special Report: ‘Small’ Business" AKA "GOP’s ‘Small Business’ Tall Tale" - Dems still can’t decide if they want to make the GOBP debate & vote on the GWB tax cuts set to expire at the end of this year or if they want to wait until after the election in November. I know this belief will come as a HUGE shock to y’all, but I’m not confident in the chutzpah of the Dems. As we all know, the GOBP, including Small Price to Pay Goldilocks, is trying to frame keeping the cuts in place for the most rich among us as a tax break for small businesses, too, that will be crippled without said breaks. When President Obama figured out that the Koch brothers were classified in that way, Bill Kristol had a fit because the brothers’ tax information was improperly viewed – even though their tax stuff is public record. When the GOBP talks "small business," they’re really talking about some ginormous places & some of the richest people in the country. The tax folks at H&R Block say they have 1.5 million clients who are actually classified as small businesses, but the extension of tax breaks for the most rich would only benefit one half of 1% of those 1.5 million businesses. I’ll let someone with better math skills come up with the number on that score. Less than 750K in this country would be affected by the top tax rate. According to Rep. Dave Camp, the ranking minority member of the appropriate House committee, defines small businesses as:
According to the Joint Committee on Taxation, 94% of all U.S. businesses in 2007 were S corporations, partnerships or sole proprietorships – ‘pass through’ business types commonly used by small businesses.
AKA, they file no taxes, and profits are filed via the individual business owners instead. Clear as mud so far? I hope so ‘cause I’m beginning to get that glazed eye feeling again! ;D
Small business means a small number of OWNERS. Any company that pays its taxes as the above – mentioned pass through is considered a small business, according to the GOBP. The richer you are, the more likely you’re going to call yourself a small business! Why do I suddenly feel like I’m in 1984? Check out THIS little tidbit!
In 2008, more than 500,000 ‘small businesses’ had more than $1 million in assets.
$HIT! The IRS can’t tell us who exactly these people are because personal tax records cannot be public record. And, the list of small businesses kept going and going and going and... One of the biggest "small" businesses in the world is Bechtel, whose 2009 revenues were around $31 billion – with a "B" there, folks! Lots of government officials, celebrities, etc. file their taxes as S corporations to save money – including our President, boys & girls. Mrs. Senator McCentury filed as an S corporation in 2006. I figured Keith would be a small business! I suspected as much when he mentioned about authors, celebrities, and other government officials filed that way but didn’t want to mention it above in case I was wrong. David Cay Johnston is here to pi$$ us off more. When taxes get taken out of our paychecks, we are helping to finance these "small" businesses to pay their taxes years in advance, AND some of these company owners didn’t even pay personal income taxes! *&^%$#@! Golly, it’s truly
The "typical" mom & pop stores DO NOT qualify as a small business that would benefit from extension of the tax breaks for the most rich among us. HEY! Keith brought up George Orwell, too; great minds TRULY think alike – HA! ;D Wow...did you hear what Mr. Johnston had to say about job creation?! During the 8 years of President Bill Clinton in the White House, more jobs were created than under Presidents Reagan & BOTH Bushes COMBINED! But, weren’t a lot of those jobs Silicon Valley – type jobs that went buh – bye?
#4 " ‘Small’ Businesses Part Deux" AKA "GOP’s ‘Small Business’ Piggybanks" - 91% of the money for TurdBlossom’s attack campaign ads come from 3 billionaires. Here’s Chris Hayes! Keith began the segment by asking how the tax cut debate will change in light of all this information. Sadly, I don’t think the debate will change a damn bit. The GOBP was on the wrong side of this even before now! Oh....bloody hell, $hit, and damnation! Keith mentioned Brad Ellsworth – the guy in the House now running for the Senate seat being vacated by the Bayhipede. He’s one of the Blue Dogs saying/begging for this issue to NOT come to a vote before the election.
I really gotta get the spark OUTTA THIS DAMN STATE! These "people" that are so damned concerned about deficits want to add MORE to the deficit by extending these tax cuts without paying for them.
** Look at the doggies in MA! Their poo makes power – neato! A monkey rode a doggie in Waterloo, IA. **
#3 "DADT" - Senator McCentury doesn’t have the foggiest idea of what DADT REALLY entails. Lordy, he really should’ve made a semi – graceful exit from public life after he lost the election. And, in news that should come as a surprise to NO ONE, a horribly homophobic slur originated from Senator Saxby Chambliss’ office. It’s not like this "honorable" Senator from GA doesn’t have experience in this area.
One of the cases that Senator McCentury said wasn’t drummed out of the military after a DADT investigation that never happened TESTIFIED in front of his committee! Major Mike Almy was that soldier who testified. His personal emails were searched for evidence. Here’s Dan Savage! I was hoping he’d be back here in light of all this $hit! ;D HEY!! He’s got an Indiana shirt on! I think he’s at IU; I’m seeing it in the background – KEWL!
...pi$$y old man mode
from the Keithster??!! HELLO???!!! ;D
WPITW – A bank robber in Bulgaria got away with a lot of coin but had to haul off a lot of stuff on a motorcycle. Ken Buck wants to partially privatize VA hospitals. DICK’s spawn is...well... spawning again.
#1 "FOX & Funds" - Sharron Angle admitted on tape that appearing on FAUX News is a financial bonanza for her Senate campaign. Well, then, she CERTAINLY does not need money from lil’ ‘ol me! ;D Here’s the smoking gun:
But here’s the deal: when I get a friendly press outlet – not so much the guy that’s interviewing me – it’s their audience that I’m trying to reach.... They say, ‘Bill O’Reilly, you better watch out for that guy, he’s not necessarily a friendly;...doesn’t matter, his audience is friendly, and if I can get an opportunity to say that at least once on his show – when I said it on Sean Hannity’s television show we made $40,000 before we even got out of the studio in New York. It was just [great].
Oh, do we really need to see the interview with the Mannity & $t. $arah from Wasilla??!! I still want to know where his hands were during all that. Wait...scratch that thought; NO, I DON’T!
Eric Burns gets to talk FAUX News & the GOBP. Media Matters has a source inside FAUX News? I hope they get battle pay & lots of delousing material! Keith, you said there was a brain among Small Price to Pay Goldilocks, Bat$hit Bachmann, and Lonesome Rhodes?! DUDE...WRONG!!!!! OK, I can agree with Mr. Burns’ first bit of advice about people getting educated about what FAUX News really is, but that whole advertiser thing he mentioned will get nowhere fast because those sponsors WANT the candidates that appear on FAUX News to win.
