This just in on CNN.
President Barack Obama's press secretary, Robert Gibbs, will leave the White House after the State of the Union address later this month, he told CNN Wednesday.
Doubtless he will be a pundit -- the question is which model will he follow?
Dick Morris?
Too bad he isn't moving to Chicago with his BFF Rahm.
More as I parse this article and see who else has published.
From the CNN article:
"I would not trade the worst days here for many of the best days at another job," Gibbs told reporters Wednesday, after announcing his departure from the White House. But he said he wants to "step back a little bit and recharge some" after four years of campaigning and a hard-fought first half of the Obama administration -- "probably the busiest years that Washington and the White House have seen in a couple of decades."
my emphasis
His departure is scheduled for after the State of the Union address, and even says that he'll be a pundit.
Which network? I'd guess CNN since they broke the story.
THIS is why Dean feels it is safe to come out after having been silent:
Huffington Post link: Dean Endorses Bill Daley for CoS.
From the HuffPost article:
While Obama may differ with progressives on certain policy issues, Dean said, "The core issue is the contempt, which not just the progressives were treated by but lots of people were treated by, by senior advisers around the president who have been here for 20 years and thought they knew everything and we knew nothing. That is a fundamental flaw in any kind of administration. As they say, 'Don't let the door hit you in the you-know-what on the way out.'"
In the vacuum left behind by Rahm and Gibbs, Dean must feel safe (and like kissing up).
