Unless you're hibernating in a cave -- you're likely aware of the Record Snow Storm now hitting the nation:
Snowmageddon?
By Denis Langlois, TheSunTimes -- Feb 1, 2011
As people in more southern regions fear the fallout of a massive winter storm — dubbed snowmageddon by big-city media outlets ...
National weather forecasters were predicting the major storm, which originated in Texas, would begin dumping snow on southern Ontario by Tuesday night. Up to 40 centimetres is expected before the system moves out ...
Brisk winds, frequent whiteout conditions and dangerously low visibility are also expected.
Areas of the United States called a state of emergency Tuesday afternoon, while residents in states like Missouri said the storm is the worst in recent memory, according to national media reports.
Get ready for the Denial Express:
Glenn Beck:
Well, the snow is hammering Washington D.C. again. I believe God is just saying, "I got your global warming here, eh? You want a piece of global warming?"
Or maybe you will soon hear some Incredulous Questions, like this:
Why is it so cold, if global warming is such a big deal?
WE ASKED
By The London Free Press (London, Ontario) -- Feb 1, 2011
We asked Gordon McBean, renowned climate-change expert at UWO’s Institute for Catastrophic Loss Reduction: Why is it so cold, if global warming is such a big deal?
-- It’s cold because, it’s winter, of course. But even for a cold-weather country, Canada is getting warmer and our winters are warming up faster than summers have been.
-- We’re getting the heavy snowfall we’ve seen lately -- last month’s Snowmageddon, in which the London [Ontario] area had roughly half a winter’s worth of snow within days -- because Great Lakes that once froze over early in the winter are staying open longer, because of global warming. That means cold Arctic air that rushes over the lakes has a rich source of moisture, which it picks up, causing the heavy snowfalls.
That's one way to combat the Climate Change Deniers -- give them the Facts.
It's far too common for people NOT to understand the difference between Climate and Weather. I see it all the time. Afterall, were not the most Scientifically-literate nation, these days, are we?
Understanding Science, takes effort.
Yes, the Earth is still warming

Thanks to La Niña, a "Pineapple Express" weather system, and normal cyclical changes in the Pacific Decadal Oscillation, it’s a rainy winter in the River City. Parts of Southern California have endured flash flooding and mudslides, while a good chunk of the country is digging out from Snowmageddon II. Freezing temperatures in the South are being blamed for traffic accidents in Atlanta and the deaths of eight homeless people in a fire at an abandoned New Orleans warehouse where they’d taken shelter.
These weather conditions lead to another persistent drenching from the annual flood of climate-change deniers, who point at the thermometer and shout,
"Hey! It's cold! That means global warming is a lie!"
Some denial is caused by simple inability to distinguish between weather and climate. Even Southern California gets colder and has rain in the winter. And there’s an underlying difficulty in the language -- "global warming" -- used to describe the serious, long-term change to our climate as a result of greenhouse gases and rising average temperatures.
Another one way to combat the Climate Change Deniers -- is Educate, with Humor.
Like some clever blogger, attempts to do here:

Know a Denier, send them this clip. Perhaps a "seasonal" point or two, will stick.
Perhaps not. But one thing we know for sure, dishing out "Science" at them, usually sticks to them like Teflon.

SO, the next time, someone on the Denial Express says to you:
Hey, I got your Global Warming right here!
You can quickly reply,
Yeah and I got your Climate Change Facts, right here, too. Dudes!
Peace. Out.
