UPDATE: I got the car out! Thanks for the suggestions below!
Fellow Kossacks:
I am in the great (and still submerged) city of Chicago. And I still haven't gotten my car out from under the snow. Here's the problem. I dug it out a bit on Wednesday, but when our street was finally plowed on Thursday, the plow pushed mounds of snow up against our car.
I cleared the top mounds off fine, but down below was harder, compacted, frozen snow (it had froze so hard because temperatures went below zero).
A shovel won't work. I have had to start hitting the mound with a hammer. This may eventually work but it could take hours and hours just to break through the hard layer of snow. Any suggestions or ideas to speed up the process? Thanks much for your help!
Update:
Thanks for all your suggestions! I am on the Northside of Chicago. No need for anyone to come and help. But all your ideas are appreciated!
