Here's the latest effort by House Republicans to create jobs waste more time pandering to their base:
Republican Rep. John Kline is a sponsor of a resolution in the U.S. House that would reaffirm “In God We Trust” as the national motto and encourages the posting of the motto on government buildings and in public schools.
Apparently this resolution is necessary because John Adams and JFK once said something, and because when bad things happen, people pray. And of course because:
Whereas the sentiment, `In God We Trust’, has been an integral part of United States society since its founding;
Which explains why it didn't become the national motto until 1956.
Republicans have controlled the House of Representatives for over a month now, and while they've found plenty of time to read the Constitution and to attack health care, equal rights and reproductive rights -- and now this -- they still haven't gotten around to even talking about job creation ... except to condemn it.
