This is going to be a quick diary - mainly because I don't have time to get answers; I just have the question. Yesterday I got in a 'discussion' with a devout anti-government, anti-union retired teacher. He came flat out and said FDR was against government worker unions.
I did a quick Google search on "FDR on public unions" and found a whole bunch of recent listings all of which the headers claim FDR was against them. The Wall Street Journal appears in a lot of them too, along with the usual suspects.
Is this the latest right-wing talking point the tea baggers are all reciting? Is this the latest gambit in the war to destroy government and the people who work for it? Has anyone got the real story on FDR on this? Please put up a comment if you've got anything on this.
I have to run - back later today. Thanks!
