John Boehner is in a bit of a catch-22 with his "so be it" comment. He says he wants to kill thousands of government jobs, "because we're broke." We're not, but he does have a point. Reducing spending is one of the things he was sent to Congress to do. He seems plummoxed that the tea party meant what they said about stuff like this.
The other reason was, of course, to create jobs. And that is Boehner's catch-22: his plan to reduce spending will cost thousands of jobs. And if reducing spending cost jobs then it's fair to say creating jobs requires spending. We have been assured that deficits cost jobs; that's what they ran on. Yet barely in office and he's already proving everything the right ran on in the midterns to be bunk. And he's using his own plan to do it.
The fact that it happened so quickly tells me it's going to be much harder to get away with this now they're in the majority. Boehner is learning you may be able to campaign on press releases and soundbites but you
