I'd seen some chatter about Karl Rove finally taking on birthers in the GOP and I thought wow, turd blossom is finally doing something semi-sane. But then just now I actually saw what he said (yeah, I know, this is probably old news for some folks):
This is the White House strategy...look, the president could come out and say, here are the documents, but they're happy to have this controversy continue, because every moment the conservatives talk about this, they marginalize themselves and diminish themselves in the minds of independent voters.
So Rove is saying that it's Obama's fault that people are birthers because he hasn't released documentation proving he is a natural-born American citizen?
Um...here's the thing. President Obama has documented it. And the fact of the matter is that the central unifying theory of birtherism is that he hasn't. So when Karl Rove says that President Obama hasn't released those documents, he's actually voicing the central tenet of birtherism. And that Karl Rove a birther. And that also makes Karl Rove an embarassment to the GOP, by his own reckoning. But what else do you expect?
Anyway, since this isn't a front page diary, I'm going to go wildly off topic for a second and link you to just an amazing image from Wisconsin:

It's just so much more colorful -- and happy! -- than those angry, hateful, Rove-following, birtheristic teahadists, don't you think?
