First of all - To the protesters in Wisonsin: Thank You! Finally, real push back against the 30 year onslaught of attacks on the middle class.
Please however, as you and most Progressives are fair minded people who sincerely want to solve problems and just live happily in peace, don't be too eager to settle. At least without getting to the true issues.
We are still operating on the billionaires' talking points and playing field. Now is the perfect time to PUNCH back politically. Here are the talking points I recommend:
1) Tax the Rich: Raising their taxes will not stifle the economy. That is a lie. If we all have to make sacrifices, then the RICH should sacrifice too. They are NOT creating jobs and they ARE not above reproach.
2) What sacrifices are the politicians making? If we are all in this togethe then Gov. Walker and all Wisonsin legislators should join in the sacrifices.
A) We will give up our health care if you and all legislators do Gov. Walker.
B) We will cut our pensions, if you and all legilators give up you pensions Gov. Walker.
3) What are you willing to give up Gov. Walker?
4) If we had a strong Meidicare for All program in the U.S., along with a strong Social Security system, states could get out of the retirement and health care system.
A) So - employer based health care is STUPID!
In conclusion:
"Sacrifices and austerity" are the words of the day then:
Tax the Rich.
We will give up our health care and pensions when all legislators do, or:
What sacrifices are the politicians, the rich AND Governor Walker making?
Guys,
Hammer it home, hammer these points home relentlessly.
Do not let them frame the debate. No matter who you are talking to you ask these questions and maket these points forcing them to spin why The Rich and Gov. Walker are entitled to benefits you are not.
Chant it, create signs.
"Governor Walker - Will you give up your pension and health care"?
Good luck and Bless you all!
