Happy Presidents' Day weekend, Cranky Users! Nurse Kelley is sick, bless her, and I have someplace away from my computer to be for much of the day, so this is mostly an open thread to allow you to share what's making you cranky today. Hopefully, Nurse Kelley will feel up to hosting, and we welcome guests with the expertise to answer some of our questions. In the fine tradition of Daily Kos, we'll have a few pootie pictures up here, to flesh out (or fur out) our little bit of content. If this makes you cranky as well, by all means, vent in the thread!
Today, we direct your attention to elfling's late Friday night diary, which has some choice information, including that it's indeed true that you don't have to enter tags to preview a diary now, just to publish it. Also, the group role formerly called "member" is now "contributor", which really sounds a lot more like somebody who writes diaries for the group.
There's a long comment thread in that diary, with some interesting items. For example, kos tells us that the plan for the fairly near future is to get the Welcome Back box onto every page, thus giving us immediate access to its handy one-click links. He laments that this will not please everyone, and further down in the thread, he outlines a long-term plan to make everyone's front page customizable.
A new bug, possibly connected with the role name change from "member" to "contributor", is reported by Gulf Watchers and confirmed by us here at Cranky Users -- someone who accepts a group invitation shows up on the member list, but with a completely blank role. They can't be assigned one, because the way to change someone's role is to click on the one they have. To clarify, this is mostly a worry for group admins (and their new invitees!) "Role" is whether you're an admin, editor, or contributor.
There's also a discussion about mojo, which is acknowledged still to be broken. The formula has changed from DK3, and the little bars in your profile indicate how you're doing. It nominally takes three bars to get trusted user status, but as yet, many users with more bars aren't getting the TU badge. (The mojo discussion is scattered, but here's the thread where kos says three bars is TU.) Obviously, this discussion will get more lively when mojo is announced to be fixed and no one has what they think they should. ;)
And last (for today), a discussion of the currently available badges you can get in your profile prompted Magnifico to provide a list of the real ones and then, better yet, a very funny list of rejected ones.
That's it, my friends! Thanks for coming! Mix it up in the comments, and I'll see you later!
