Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas knew he couldn't sit still while liberals trashed his reputation, being the silent Justice who never cared enough about a single case to ask a solitary question of a witness in 5 years sitting on the nation's highest court.
It was time to take the narrative by the horns ... and twist it into the most ridiculous metamorphesis of reality he could manage.
Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas – his impartiality under attack from liberals because of his attendance at a meeting of conservative donors sponsored by the Koch brothers and his wife’s tea party activism – struck a defiant tone in a Saturday night speech in Charlottesville, Va., telling a friendly audience that he and his wife “believe in the same things” and “are focused on defending liberty.”
Oh poor, poor misunderstood sexist whose name shall forever be synonymous with the words Pubic Hair. Clarence insists that liberals who attack him are hell bent on undermining the institution of a Supreme Court. That they misunderstand the importance of the 3rd branch of government. That they won't stop until this institution is destroyed.
“(These critics) seem bent on undermining” the High Court as an institution. Such criticism, Thomas warned, could erode the ability of American citizens to fend off threats to their way of life.
“You all are going to be, unfortunately, the recipients of the fallout from that – that there’s going to be a day when you need these institutions to be credible and to be fully functioning to protect your liberties,” he said, according to a partial recording of the speech provided to POLITICO by someone who was at the meeting.
“And that’s long after I’m gone, and that could be either a short or a long time, but you’re younger, and it’s still going to be a necessity to protect the liberties that you enjoy now in this country.”
Excuse me, while I simultaneously laugh and vomit.
Most people understand that what Thomas is being criticized for is tarnishing the image of the Supreme Court. Most people get that the critics themselves are the ones who are hell bent on DEFENDING our 3rd Branch of Government. And people, whether they agree or not, can understand that if anyone could be accused of being the antithesis of that integrity, it's Clarence Thomas. Thomas has an offensive lip lock on the manhood of the Koch Brothers in a way that's so close to impeachable, it makes the blue dress look like a Shirley Temple prop.
Thomas' wife, Virginia has become the poster child of how the corrupt Citizens United decision for which Thomas was relied upon to make law can make a mockery out of voter representation and turn corporate funding into the 21st Century equivalent of a boiling vat of hot, molten metal pouring down on the jeering peasants below.
He has the fucking audacity to try and turn this into exactly the opposite of what it is ... a middle class outraged by his besmirching of the highest court in the land with his republican party bias, that Justice Alito demonstrated with his offensive "Not true" episode, an embarrassment to the nation that the High Court could be reduced to a puppet tool of a political party.
When the truth is twisted like an origami figure into something that looks like it's exactly the opposite of what it started out as ... you can rest assured there's a conservative behind the paper bird trying to cover up his own distorted corruption.
