During the early days of protests against Republican Governor Scott Walker's union-busting disguised as a budget, Walker said of his efforts to strip collective bargaining rights:
The simple matter is I campaigned on this all throughout the election. Anybody who says they are shocked on this has been asleep for the past two years.
Which of course, was a lie. But that hasn't stopped Walker from repeating it, and it certainly hasn't stopped Fox News from advancing the lie.
So let's clear things up right now. During Walker's now-infamous duping by a blogger posing as David Koch, his billionaire contributor from Kansas, Walker shared his approach for union-busting with the faux-Koch, saying:
This is, I told my cabinet ... I had all my cabinet over to the residence for dinner. Talked about what we were going to do, how we were going to do it, we had already kind of doped plans up, but it was kind of a last hurrah, before we dropped the bomb ...
That was on January 7. More than two months after the election.
