What Are You Working On is a community diary series for all things crafty, in a variety of mediums and techniques.
You may volunteer to guest host by signing up at this yahoo group, which I check from time to time. Also by joining this group, you will receive one email a week when the diary is posted.
For review, and let me know if you want your status changed or anything:
Group functions:
Follow the group: the diary will appear in your stream.
Contributor: you want to write a WAYWO diary or contribute to diary content.
Editor: you want to write and post WAYWO diaries, including diaries that contributors wrote.
Admin: you want to write and post diaries, invite and disinvite members, and can remove the group entirely (just kidding).
The creative process around writing a WAYWO was covered here:
How to Write a WAYWO, along with a few technical details from the old site. You still need an idea, perhaps some photos or diagrams, and a bit of writing.
Now we meet the Publication Manager.
I, being an i-dork, can't make a decent print screen, so i actually photographed a few things.
So you are writing up your WAYWO, and you go to preview. Just like before. You will see 3 buttons across the top: Preview Diary, Publication Manager, and Delete Diary. When you are all done writing and have previewed and it looks the way you want, choose Publication Manager.
When you click on Publication Manager, you get a box that looks like this:
Choose: Queue to a Group Blog (the third option) and in the pull-down box, choose among your groups for What Are You Working On/WAYWO.
Hit publish.
If you are a contributor, you are done.
Blog editors and blog admins can manage the queue, like so:
Go to the group home page. The right-most view is the queue.
You can Publish Now, on the far right of the line, or use the schedule to pop up a box like this:
And here you choose a date, time, and am or pm. You can even leave a note, I think.
It's really easy. The second time ;-)
