While many insightful and powerful diaries are written here at Daily Kos, one of the richest and most overlooked sources of Kossack wisdom comes in the form of comments attached to these diaries.
Top Comments strives to recognize and promote each day's outstanding comments through nominations made by Kossacks like you. Send comments to
TopComments at gmail dot com (before 9:30pm ET).
Be sure to include the direct link to the comment—the URL—which is available by clicking on that comment's date/time. Always include your Daily Kos user name in the body of your message so we can credit you properly. If you send a writeup with the link, we can include that, too.

Some of you may be aware that
I love limericks. So tonight I thought I might offer a few just for fun. Please feel free to add your own in the comments.
I'll start with a DK4 limerick:
We're adjusting to new DK4,
Though rs surely does know the score.
He diaried a lesson
About Bush Depression,
But to rec it takes three clicks or more.
Now on to some domestic political poetry:
Scott Walker has been in the news
For his anti-American views.
He wants to bust labor,
But neighbor joined neighbor,
And it's Scott who'll be singing the blues.
We know Walker is owned by the Kochs.
At DK they're the butt of some jokes.
They think they are smarties
For funding Tea Parties,
But they were pwned in the Murphy guy's hoax.
John Boehner, he sports an orange tan.
Of the oligarchs he's a big fan.
He causes me stress,
And I have to confess
He's the one I would most like to can.
And equal time for foreign affairs:
Mubarak has now bit the dust.
The Egyptians insisted he must.
They took to the streets
With Facebook and Tweets,
And the outcome is really quite just.
Now it's Libya's turn for a coup.
Gaddafi thinks that he knows what to do.
The protesters he shoots,
While his own horn he toots,
But the people will win this one too.
We're still fighting two wars, it is true.
But progressives know just what to do:
Get our troops out and leave
Is what we believe.
Won't you work alongside of us too?
And a few more for Kossacks:
For cartoons just read JekyllnHyde;
And he'll take you along for the ride.
They show us the truth
Though they're sometimes uncouth;
Jekyll's really a wonderful guide.
David Waldman keeps up with the Hill,
Though the bad news is sometimes a pill.
But we're glad that he chatters
Because Congress Matters
Ev'ry time that it votes on a bill.
Kitsap River at last found a donor.
Her new kidney is not just a loaner.
It's all hers to keep
And the joy made us weep,
Causing several glad Kossacks to phone 'er.
Kossacks write lots of thoughts on this site,
And Top Comments is here ev'ry night.
We highlight the best
And ignore all the rest
While sardonyx makes sure things go right.
Well, I'm done. Your turn.

From brillig:
In Roger Shuler's Clarence Thomas diary, rickeagle sets it up and trumpeter hits it home.
From blueoregon:
In xxdr zombiexx's diary Wackjob Nation: Anti-Government extremist population 'exploding', entlord had this great comment.
From your humble diarist:
supercereal had a righteous comment about the "appalling" nature of the right wing in Something the Dog Said's diary Gov. Barbour Tries To Retool "Welfare Queens" Meme.
Read some very reasoned discussion about the dilemmas facing military families in both angelajean's excellent diary "Help Military Families by Limiting Moves" and Lawyer Mama's thoughtful response.
rudewarrior sums up the "Huckster" in an epigram in Jed Lewison's front page post Mike Huckabee's insincere birther backpedal.
Put your drink down before you click on this one: joelgp's rec listed diary Fox News busted in a brand new lie exposed that a videotape on O'Reilly's show was (ahem!) highly misleading. The tape purported to show a clash between a union protester and a teabagger in Wisconsin when the incident was actually shot in California (the palm trees were a clue), and citizenx chipped in this hilarious illustrated comment.
Note: Top Mojo is unavailable at present due to the changeover to DK4. We hope to resume TM soon.
